The Chen Files (Deleted) Part 2.5: Raising Money off Support for China

Chen Lashes Out After Being Exposed for Backing CCP-Funded Confucius Institutes that are Part of CCP Efforts to Infiltrate American Institutions, Now Raising Money off that Support

Perennial candidate and socialist Jay Chen is doubling down on his decades-long support of Chinese Communist Party-backed Confucius Institutes via a tirade-laden fundraising email where among other things he laughably accuses Korean-born Congresswoman Michelle Steel of being racist and anti-Asian.

“From pro-democracy organizations to academics to Members of Congress from both parties, there is broad based consensus that Confucius Institutes are a part of the Chinese Communist Party’s effort to infiltrate American institutions, but Jay Chen would have everyone believe it’s just a nice ‘culture’ program,’” said Steel Campaign Spokesperson Lance Trover.

Chen’s commitment to Confucius Institutes runs deep, attacking anyone who questions his support of the CCP-backed Institutes as ‘xenophobic’. After Michelle Steel highlighted his fervent backing, Chen, in a crazed fundraising email, actually labeled Korean-born Steel as ‘anti-Asian’ and ‘racist’.

“Jay Chen’s curious backing of a program that members of both parties agree is simply a tool of the Chinese Communist Party raises serious questions that he must answer because it’s clear Confucius Institutes aren’t simply a ‘language and culture’ program for students,” said Trover.

Chen’s support of CPP-sponsored schools is just the latest revelation of his increasingly radical and extremist views. These same deleted web pages showed his commitment to socialist policies, which includes doubling taxes on California families.
