ICYMI: Chen Curiously Silent on Support of Single-Payer Healthcare That Will Raise Taxes on Working Class Families

Chen Can’t Have it Both Ways – Must Explain Support for Plan that Raises Taxes on Workers Earning More Than $49,900, Deleted Website

Garden Grove, CA – One day after being exposed for supporting Sacramento’s push for a single-payer plan that will raise taxes on working class families and small businesses, the only thing voters have heard from Jay Chen is the quiet click of the delete button on a computer – deleting the website where he proudly proclaimed:

I became a delegate for Bernie Sanders in 2016 because I believed in his vision of a single-payer national health care program.”

“Jay Chen owes working class families in California an explanation as to why he supports hiking taxes on them and small businesses in California,” said Michelle Steel Spokesperson, Lance Trover. “All anyone has heard from Chen so far is the click of a delete button on a computer, a clear attempt to deceive voters and hide his support for a government takeover of healthcare that comes with a doubling of taxes on California’s working class families.”

Minutes after the Steel Campaign exposed Chen’s support for the massive taxing program, Chen deleted the very web pages where he glowingly pushed for a single payer healthcare system.

“Jay Chen can’t have it both ways – he needs to fess up to voters and explain his support for this radical government takeover of healthcare that would crush working class families and small businesses with massive tax hikes,” added Trover.
