Leadership Group Joins List of National Organizations Supporting Steel’s Campaign
Huntington Beach, CA– Empower America Project, a national organization that trains and identifies diverse and emerging leaders, has endorsed Michelle Steel for Congress. Steel is one of 10 Empower Leaders that the organization has chosen to support. As the Chair of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, Steel is gaining momentum in her campaign for Congress. There is growing support from both national and local organizations that have identified her as the best candidate to unseat Harley Rouda in 2020.
In their announcement, Empower American Project Executive Director Jimmy Kemp stated, “The Empower America Project believes that, at our best, America is aspirational. The outcome of our lives shouldn’t be determined by the zip code in which we are born. Therefore, we advocate principles and policies that ensure economic freedom and educational opportunity. Too many people either don’t believe similarly or too often, if they do, they miscommunicate the message. These 10 Empower candidates are fresh faces advancing opportunity for all Americans. We applaud their public service pursuits and endorse their candidacies for the U.S. House of Representatives.”
Empower America Project is the brainchild of U.S. Senator Tim Scott who helped establish the organization in 2019. The project is aimed at training the next generation of diverse leaders who embody American principles. By supporting these leaders, Empower America Project hopes to promote the American idea of free markets and free people to every corner of the country.
“I am running for Congress on the exact ideals Empower America Project tries to promote. I am honored for their endorsement and excited to work with these diverse leaders to get things done in Congress,” said Michelle Steel, Chair of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. “Free market principles are what our country was built on, and a return to these principles will empower and improve all communities.”
