Lies to KTLA About Role as Lawyer Representing Alleged Sexual Predator and Racist
Garden Grove, CA – In his first public comments, Trial Lawyer Derek Tran this weekend doubled down on his representation of an alleged sexual predator and a racist who hung a noose in his office telling KTLA that the cases he brought forward “have merit.”
As has been reported by journalist Jake Lahut, the OC Register and Politico, Tran pro-actively represented:
- A racist who hung a noose for weeks in his office
- A man who three women alleged sexually harassed them, Tran blamed the “me too” movement for his client’s firing
- A man who made sexually explicit comments to women, and violated store policy with Blacks and Hispanics
When confronted about his representation of the clients via a Steel Campaign’s statement highlighting that Tran’s own website said he was “involved in every aspect of every case,” Tran lied to KTLA claiming it wasn’t true, even though it came from his own law firm web page.
Tran then went on to defend his racist and alleged abuser clients by saying, “These cases that have merit – deeply complex issues in them.”
“Trial Lawyer Derek Tran is now officially on record standing by the fact that in order to make a quick buck he proactively took on the cases of an admitted racist who hung a noose in his office and alleged sexual predator,” said Steel Campaign Spokesperson Lance Trover. “Despicable doesn’t begin to describe the fact that Tran would stand by such horrendous people.”
