With out-of-control Southern Border, California implements free program for illegals while facing $68B deficit
Garden Grove, CA – Congresswoman Michelle Steel’s campaign today called on her opponents to say whether they support free health care for illegal immigrants per California’s recent law and whether they would support such a plan nationally.
“As the State of California embarks on another left-wing crusade to take care of illegal immigrants, millions of its citizens are left paying the bill to the tune of nearly $3 billion. Derek Tran, Kim Nguyen, Cheyenne Hunt, and Aditya Pai must tell hardworking Southern California families if they support California’s far-left plan and whether this is something they will pursue if elected to Congress,” said Steel Campaign Spokesperson Lance Trover.
California’s plan is slated to cost at least $2.6 billion annually. Since California often is the leader for far-left policies pushed by Democrats in Washington, working families deserve to know if this is a plan that Democrats running in California’s 45th district would support in Congress.
“Having toured the Southern Border, Michelle understands that our border control agents don’t have the support they need, that fentanyl is pouring into our communities because of America’s lax policies, and that humans are being trafficked every single day,” said Trover. “In Congress, Michelle is working across the political aisle fighting for increased access to healthcare for legal immigrants, lowering costs for all Americans, and passing hospital price transparency legislation.”
