Steel is endorsed by Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and the Orange County Republican Party
Garden Grove, CA – U.S. Representative Michelle Steel today announced she will run for reelection in the new 45th congressional district. Steel has already secured key endorsements from Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, Rep. Young Kim, Rep. Ken Calvert, former Rep. Mimi Walters, Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairman Andrew Do, and the Republican Party of Orange County.
The 45th district encompasses portions of Steel’s current district including Westminster, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, and Midway City. Steel also represented significant portions of the 45th district when she served as Vice Chair of the California State Board of Equalization and as the Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
Powered by broad grassroots support and a robust small dollar program, Steel has raised over $2.1 million through the first three quarters of the cycle.
“Californians today are facing so many challenges– from high taxes to concerns over affordability, crime, and the quality of education our children receive,” stated Rep. Steel. “Although the district lines have changed, my mission has not. I have spent my entire career as a public servant fighting to protect California taxpayers, to lower crime rates, and to hold government accountable when it fails the people, and I will continue to do that work.”
“In Congress, Michelle Steel has kept her promise of being a strong voice for the voiceless by standing up to out-of-touch Washington politicians and their extreme agenda that would hurt California working class families,” added Sam Oh, Steel’s political advisor. “Congresswoman Steel and our team have been working tirelessly for the past year and we are more than ready.”
