Rouda silent while money could go to small business, PPE
Steel accepts 16,000 masks & PPE for county emergency workers & first responders
Huntington Beach, CA – Michelle Steel, Republican candidate for CA-48, today criticized Harley Rouda for staying silent as word came from Sacramento that $75 million of state tax dollars will be spent on stimulus funds for illegal immigrants.
“As we’ve seen here in Orange County, our small businesses, their employees, and all of our citizens are struggling and now money that could be used for PPE or to help small business is going to illegal immigrants – that’s just not right,” Steel said. “Harley Rouda should join me in standing up for our frontline medical workers and small businesses here in Orange County who could badly use this funding.”
As Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, Michelle Steel has been fighting to ease the burden on taxpayers including calling for a suspension of the jobs-killing AB5, accepting the donation of 16,000 masks and PPE for OC emergency workers and first responders, and will soon announce the members of an Ad Hoc Committee that will begin examining how to help local businesses reopen when deemed safe.
