California’s Leading Taxpayers’ Rights Organization Backs Proven Tax-Fighter Michelle Steel for Congress
Huntington Beach, CA– Today, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC, California’s leading organization dedicated to the protection of Proposition 13 and California taxpayers, announced their endorsement of Michelle Steel for Congress as she fights to flip California’s 48th congressional district.
“Michelle Steel has dedicated her career to fighting against higher taxes for California residents, and is a proven tax-fighter who has worked hard to protect taxpayers and stop tax increases. Michelle’s track record on opposing tax increases and protecting California taxpayers truly speaks for itself and there is no doubt that she will bring that same mentality and action to Congress. Michelle has our full support and endorsement as she seeks to bring common sense leadership back to Orange County,” stated Jon Coupal, Chairman of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association PAC.
The Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association (HJTA) was founded over 40 years ago in order to protect Proposition 13 in California. Since then, HJTA has focused on advancing taxpayer rights, reducing taxes, protecting the right to vote on tax increases, and ensuring economical use of taxpayers dollars. HJTA has saved taxpayers nearly $4 billion and has worked to support tax-fighting candidates as they seek elected office.
Through her work on the California State Board of Equalization and on the Orange County Board of Supervisors, Michelle Steel has fought for lower taxes at all levels of government. In her role on the Board of Equalization, Michelle led the fight to return over $400 million back to California taxpayers who were victims of a failing tax system. Michelle launched her campaign for Congress based on her experience as a proven tax-fighter.
The HJTA PAC joins a growing list of local organizations that stand with Michelle Steel including the California Republican Party, the Republican Party of Orange County, and the Lincoln Club of Orange County.
Steel represents the county’s 2nd supervisorial district which overlaps 66% of California’s 48th congressional district which encompasses all or portions of Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, and Westminster.
