Steel Fundraising Impresses and Rouda Continues Downward Spiral
Huntington Beach, CA – In the second quarter of 2021, Congresswoman Michelle Steel more than doubled Harley Rouda’s fundraising numbers. Steel brought in nearly $810,000 this quarter and ended with over $1 million cash-on-hand, putting her in the top tier of all targeted 2022 House races in the country. Rouda lags significantly behind with $395,000 cash-on-hand entering the 3rd quarter of 2021.
Rouda’s lackluster fundraising report comes on the heels of reports of him lying, breaking federal law, and running racist attack ads. After losing in 2020, Rouda enters the second half of the year well behind his incumbent opponent and with a trail of ugly headlines.
“Voters see right through Harley Rouda. He lies about his taxes, lies about wanting to raise your taxes, and he lies about Michelle,” stated Lance Trover, spokesman for Michelle Steel. “It’s been an embarrassing month and his uninspiring fundraising numbers make one thing clear – voters are done with Harley Rouda.”
