Sandra Hutchens Joins Sheriff Don Barnes in Making Michelle Steel Law Enforcement’s Choice for U.S. Congress
Huntington Beach, CA– Michelle Steel, Vice-Chair of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, today announced she has earned the endorsement of retired Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens in her bid to take on freshman Democrat Harley Rouda. Hutchens joins current Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes in making Michelle Steel Orange County law enforcement’s clear choice for U.S. Congress.
“Michelle Steel is a dedicated public servant who I closely worked alongside to ensure that Orange County families are safe,” said retired Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens. “Michelle is trusted by the law enforcement community and is tough on crime. In Congress, Michelle Steel will always put public safety before politics.”
Sandra Hutchens served as the county’s top law enforcement leader for over a decade serving from June 2008 to January 2019.
Currently, Michelle Steel serves as the Vice-Chair of the Orange County Board of Supervisors where she works tirelessly on behalf of all Orange County families fighting higher taxes, reducing traffic congestion in our communities, and ensuring our bays and coastlines are clean.
Supervisor Steel’s leadership and regional work to improve the lives of Orange County residents has earned her the endorsements of Orange County Board of Supervisors Lisa Bartlett, Andrew Do, and Don Wagner as well as Orange County Assessor Claude Parrish, Orange County Clerk-Record Hugh Nguyen, and Orange County Treasurer Shari Freidenrich.
Steel represents the county’s 2nd supervisorial district which overlaps 66% of California’s 48th congressional district which encompasses all or portions of Aliso Viejo, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, and Westminster.
